Assumes quarterly compounding and does not include tax. Interest rates differ by bank, so check your bank for the exact rate and terms.

How it works

Maturity value = P × (1 + r/4)^(4t), where P is the deposit, r is the annual interest rate as a decimal and t is the tenure in years. Many banks compound FD interest quarterly, but your bank terms may differ.

Frequently asked questions

Is FD interest taxable?

Interest earned on a fixed deposit is generally taxable as per your income tax slab, and banks may deduct TDS above certain limits. Check current rules with your bank or the income tax department. This calculator does not include tax.

Why can my bank maturity amount be different?

Banks may compound monthly, quarterly or pay interest out periodically, and rates differ by tenure and depositor category. Always rely on your bank FD receipt for the exact figure.
