This is a mathematical illustration using the return you enter. Actual returns are not guaranteed and can be lower or negative.

How it works

The calculator uses FV = P × [((1 + i)^n − 1) / i] × (1 + i), where P is the monthly amount, i is the monthly rate (annual rate ÷ 12) and n is the number of months. It assumes each instalment is invested at the start of the month and that the return stays constant, which real markets do not do.

Frequently asked questions

How is the SIP return calculated here?

It applies compound growth to each monthly instalment at the yearly return you enter. Change the return to see how sensitive the result is.

Is the result guaranteed?

No. It is a mathematical illustration. Mutual fund returns change with markets and can be lower than assumed or even negative.
